Bayonet

Bayonet is a French designed car, but Jas A Munro and Company of Melbourne, Victoria, imported parts (which included Ballot engines) to Australia and assembled them in Australia from about 1913 until 1927, which qualifies them as Australian.

Some suggest that the French designed "Mass" car is the Australian "Bayonet".  L Pierron of Courbervoie made Ballot engines and cars, which were sold in England as "Mass". Also, some Mass cars are reported to have arrived in Australia (however, these do not qualify as Australian cars).

Also part of the Ivan Hoffmann Collection, but not appearing here, are Open Event race results dated 1913; Brass Notes magazine articles dated 1990 and 1991 regarding identifying and finding information about a Bayonet car;  emails dated 2003 & 2009 from David Manson regarding Allan Fredrick King, and Mass and Bayonet cars.
