Wiles - Thomson is a collaboration of two people Wiles was more the manufacturing side and Thomson the design side and they of experimental All-Australian cars in the mid until late 1940's.
Thomson is Jack Muir Thomson started to design a car before he served in the Australian Flying Corps (as Chief Mechanic) 1915-1919; in 1939 he started All Australian Motors; 1940-1946 served in a technical role in the Australian Army (also part of DOMF - see separate post); 1944 created Patent 122683 - Improved hydraulic vehicle brake; 1946 created Patent 130586 - Improvements in automobile bodies; created Small Cars Ltd (1949 until 1958).
Wiles is Ivor Willian Wiles of Wiles Manufacturing Company in Adelaide, South Australia and served in the Royal Australian Air Force 1916-1945 (as Flight Lieutenant). Ivor's father, James (Jim) Fletcher Wiles had developed the World War 1 field cooker (the Wiles mobile and stationary steam cookers). Ivor and his brothers, including James Kenneth (Ken) Wiles, remodeled their father's cooker for use in World War 2 (and patented it).
