This web-site presents the Ivan Hoffmann Collection of research materials about Australian Automobiles - clippings, brochures, diagrams, photos, articles etc., from early days until more recent. It qualifies as Australian if one or more components - body/engine/chassis were either prototype, designed, built, assembled, manufactured or made for use, only in Australia, (we also adopted a few New Zealand cars as Australian!). Sangster

Sangster was a hovercraft i.e. Air Cushioned Vehicle (ACV) built by Daniel H Sangster of Thornbury, in Melbourne, Victoria in 1963. The hovercraft was used in a mail run in the suburb of Laverton, in Melbourne on 8 October 1963.

Clisby and Chamberlain also built ACV (see separate posts).
