Besst were assembled in Adelaide, South Australia by May Motors Works Limited from 1926 until 1927, only five were made, with components from Crow-Elkhart Corporation (Indiana, USA) being used.
The slogan for Besst was "There is no better than the Besst".
Also part of the Ivan Hoffmann Collection, but not appearing here, are - an Agreement dated 27 August 1913 between GM May and FA D'Arenberg; article dated 15 March 1913 appearing in the Chronicle (newspaper); article dated 15 June 1916 appearing in Barrier Miner (newspaper); items appearing in South Australian Motor Cars 1881...1942 by George Brooks and Ivan Hoffmann.
