Besst were assembled in Adelaide, South Australia by May Motors Works Limited from 1926 until 1927, only five were made, with components from Crow-Elkhart Motor Corporation (Indiana, USA) being used.
The slogan for Besst was "There is no better than the Besst".
Also part of the Ivan Hoffmann Collection, but not appearing here, are - an Agreement dated 27 August 1913 between GM May and FA D'Arenberg; article dated 15 March 1913 appearing in the Chronicle (newspaper); article dated 15 June 1916 appearing in Barrier Miner (newspaper); items appearing in South Australian Motor Cars 1881...1942 by George Brooks and Ivan Hoffmann.
