This web-site presents the Ivan Hoffmann Collection of research materials about Australian Automobiles - clippings, brochures, diagrams, photos, articles etc., from early days until more recent. It qualifies as Australian if one or more components - body/engine/chassis were either prototype, designed, built, assembled, manufactured or made for use, only in Australia, (we also adopted a few New Zealand cars as Australian!). Buchanan (kit car)

Buchanan were fiberglass-bodied sports cars produced in Sydney, New South Wales from 1956 until the about 1960. The first version was based on the Aston-Martin DB 35 and later made available in kit form, the later model was called a Cobra first produced in 1958, of which seven were made.
