Gilgen was a steam three-wheeled coach (9-seater) built by the Swiss maker Gilgen.
In 1881, the young British Princes Albert and George visited South Australian were intrigued by the Gilgen, which was possibly the first automobile in Australia ... so the Gilgen helped to put Australia on the automotive map.
