Australian Six

Australian Six was built in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney, by Frederik Hugh Gordon in 1919, the first 49 Australian Six cars had a rounded radiator, (like the USA's American Six & Winther Six), subsequent cars had an angular radiator surround. From 1920-1923 the Australian Six was built in Ashfield, Sydney, New South Wales, by Australian Motors Ltd. From 1923-1924 the Australian Six was built in Five Dock, Sydney, New South Wales by Harkness and Hillier (see Australian Six - Harkness and Hillier post). The Australian Six motto was "Made in Australia, by Australians, for Australians".  Possibly about 500 vehicles were produced.

Also see Australian Six - distributors; Australian Six - Harkness posts.

Also part of the Ivan Hoffmann Collection, but not appearing here are copies of - correspondence obtained from the National Archives of Australia (NAA); correspondence with Muesum of Applied Arts and Sciences; list of references; articles from magazines and books (including racing results); photos.
