Lawton was a body builder in Adelaide, South Australia from 1865 until taken over by Freighters in 1954. Lawton built bodies for Both - see Both post & Ford; made mobile industrial trucks (fork-lifts etc., electrical and petrol driven); prototype army automobiles etc. Lawton also made a four-wheel drive prototype called the Imp.
